5K Event Registration Form

On May 27, 2010, more than 475 girls will participate in the New Balance Girls On The Run 5k run/walk to celebrate completion of the 10 week Girls on the Run/Girls On Track program.  The run/walk will begin and end at Memorial Field on the campus of Buchanan High School. There will be a short program beforehand that will start at 6:00 p.m. 

The girls celebrate their successes, affirm the lessons they have learned, and share their enthusiasm for running and healthy living with members of the public. Every girl is number 1, and every runner is a winner. Come, run with the girls and provide support and positive energy! Register to Run or Walk with the Girls

Early Registration – must register prior to May 10th                        $20

Late Registration & Day of Registration                                           $25

*NOTE: Paper registrations must be received at the United Way of Southwest Michigan office by May 10th to be guaranteed a t-shirt.  All ages are welcome to register as community runners/walkers, however, for safety reasons no in-line skates, bicycles or pets are allowed on the course.  Walkers may have strollers.

• Packet Pickup Stations (St. Joseph and Buchanan May 25th 5-8pm)

• Site Set-Up

Occurs between 10am and 3pm and includes: setting up tables, chairs, tents, stage, organizing food tent, setting site marker on field, distributing race bags, placement of balloon arch, marking 5k route, creating/placing parking signs, etc.

• Parking attendants

Needed to guide the participants to various parking lots in Buchanan between 4-6pm.

• Site Cleanup

Occurs throughout the event but especially after the event has ended around 8pm.  Picking up trash on field and along route, breaking down tents, chairs, tables, balloon arch, parking signs, and anything else that is needed to leave Memorial Field and the City of Buchanan as beautiful as we found it.
