One of the ways the United Way of Southwest Michigan creates lasting change in the community is through a process called Community Investment – a method of investing funds in the community using measurable data and program accountability. The word “investment” aptly describes the concerted effort by volunteers and staff to use United Way donations and resources - including dollars, volunteers and in-kind services - in a manner that will achieve maximum improvement in the lives of Southwest Michigan residents.
