Clark Logic Donates Space for Upcoming Annual Whirlpool Appliance Sale; Announces Building Renovation Investment

The Portage-based real estate and logistics company will rehab the large multi-purpose building at 211 Hilltop in a multi-million dollar revitalization project

ST. JOSEPH, MI – As the annual Whirlpool Appliance Sale to benefit United Way of Southwest Michigan approaches, industrial real estate developer and logistics firm Clark Logic has announced they will donate space in the 211 Hilltop building, currently known as the Hilltop Business Center, to hold the sale.

When the public visits one of the larger portions of the 211 Hilltop space during the October 12th & 13th Whirlpool Appliance Sale event, they will get a first look at the multi-million dollar project which is in its early stages of redevelopment. Renovations underway at the 529,000 square-foot facility include maintenance and restoration of landscaping, new windows & doors, new lighting, parking lot resurfacing, interior painting, HVAC & roofing improvements, and building-wide internet installation.

Clark Logic’s investment in the property’s complete revitalization also includes a set of executive suites available for lease in the front of the building facing Hilltop Road. Tim Monahan, Director of Development for Clark Logic, says the company plans to create “business incubator” spaces for solo entrepreneurs and small businesses that simply need a working space to call their own, but with all the amenities and resources of a corporate building, including shared common & meeting spaces, restrooms, kitchen, utilities, janitorial services, internet access, parking, and more.

“This building is solid and full of potential with office and warehouse space available for lease,” says Monahan. “We are absolutely tenant-driven. We know small businesses in our community need a great space to work in just as much as large-scale lessees. We can cater to space needs from as small as one room with a desk to a large warehouse with area for manufacturing. We also have build-to-suit options and can customize any space.”

In 2025, Clark Logic plans to unveil a new brand and identity for the building that will focus on its history at 211 Hilltop. The rebrand will include additional aesthetic and functional features that will improve the building’s interior & exterior.

“The City of St. Joseph is a vibrant community and this property has a storied history,” said Clark Logic President, Jamie Clark. “We are excited to elevate this building’s use and restore it to a thriving hub that will foster business and economic growth in the area. We are also proud community sponsors and are happy that we could assist in this amazing fundraiser by Whirlpool to help support the United Way.”

Clark Logic will host the Whirlpool Appliance Sale on the west side of the large building through the entrance labeled 73, which leads to a large back office area formerly occupied by Whirlpool decades prior. A large parking lot and dock access will allow patrons to conveniently and easily take purchases to their vehicles.

The Whirlpool Appliance Sale will take place Saturday, October 12th from 8am-4pm, and Sunday, October 13th from 9am-1pm. The sale is open to the public and offers 300+ discounted Maytag, KitchenAid and Whirlpool brand ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers at significant savings. All the major appliances are new, with a full one-year warranty. The sale will also feature Gladiator, KitchenAid small appliances and accessories offered at exclusive prices. Cash & credit cards will be accepted for this sale, and home delivery will be available for a $100 donation per appliance within a 15-mile radius of St. Joseph.

All proceeds from the Appliance Sale will be attributed to Whirlpool Corporation’s internal employee-driven campaign to benefit United Way of Southwest Michigan. Whirlpool Corp. is the largest giving employee campaign for United Way of Southwest Michigan, alongside employee campaigns from over 130 businesses & organizations in the three county area.
