CELEBRATION: OUR PEOPLE, OUR IMPACT

United Way of Southwest Michigan hosts our annual “Evening of Celebration” to show gratitude & highlight the work of our community partners and the impact of United Way. The event is filled with success stories from individuals, impact & corporate partners, and appreciation for our donors. More than 500 community leaders, impact partners, business partners, United Way Board members, and volunteers are expected to attend.

SCHOOL SUPPLY SPECTACULAR

United Way of Southwest Michigan is proud to partner with area businesses and organizations to present School Supply Spectacular in Cass County in August. This annual event provides free backpacks with grade-appropriate school supplies to Cass County students in pre-kindergarten to 12th grade.

ROCK THE BOAT

The ROCK THE BOAT Cardboard Boat Races take place in July at the Inn at Harbor Shores in the St. Joseph River channel. This is United Way of Southwest Michigan’s biggest fundraising event of the year! Teams compete to race cardboard boats while also raising funds for United Way for awards like the People’s Choice. This event is attended by over 1,000 people and is by far one of the most fun events to be part of while helping United Way.

RAKE A DIFFERENCE

Before winter hits, raking leaves and cleaning out gutters is a vital step to ensuring spring snow melt does not cause water damage to home or lawn. Many area seniors try to accomplish this work on their own, putting them at risk for falls and serious injury. United Way of Southwest Michigan mobilizes the community to give them a helping hand in prepping for winter.
